Governor Kehoe's Budget Priorities

Governor Mike Kehoe published his BUDGET PRIORITIES for Missouri's fiscal year ending 2026. Themes include public safety, economic development, agriculture, education, healthcare/mental health, veterans/military services, and government improvement.

Department of Economic Development Reporting Deadline
|
|
|
Municipalities must submit a report to the Missouri Department of Economic Development by February 28th if any businesses have relocated to a TIF district (Section 99.810.3, RSMo) within your city limits.

MML Legislative Conference
|
|
|
The Missouri Municipal League's annual legislative conference will be held February 18th & 19th in Jefferson City. The AGENDA includes legislator office visits (appointments required), plus remarks from Rep. Dave Hinman (House Local Government Committee Chair), Sen. Brian Williams (Minority Caucus Whip), Rep. Jonathan Patterson (Speaker of the House), and Ed Hassinger (MoDOT Executive Director).
Sen. Williams is hosting a meet & greet with refreshments at the capitol on Tuesday the 18th at 10 AM (2nd floor inner hallway) specifically for municipalities in the St. Louis region. The League will send invites later this week.

February Training Academy

February's Training Academy will be held on Thursday the 27th at noon. The presenter will be Casey Lawrence with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Municipalities can still register for the program and pay annual tuition HERE. Annual tuition allows all elected officials, staff members, and board/commission members within your municipality to attend all seminars throughout the year.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, in coordination with the Missouri Department of Public Safety-Office of Homeland Security and Springfield Police Department are hosting a Public Order Public Safety training event on Feb 17th & 18th, 8 AM - 5 PM, at the City of Springfield's Police Department South District Station. Students will receive instruction in protest types and actions, legal considerations, responsibilities of public order units, and crowd control methods.
